Where is the Best Place to Advertise a Canadian or American Lodge, Camp or Resort For Sale?

We asked the same 87 lodge, camp and resort owners how they found the business they purchased.

  • 40% found the business online.
  • 60% found the business through some sort of word of mouth as the business was not publicly advertised for sale. Some were guests of the business, some approached the owner directly and asked if they’d be interested in selling and some simply heard through the grape vine that the owner was considering selling.

Placing a for sale sign in the yard of your business in the remote locations that most of these businesses are in won’t work and won’t look good to guests. It’s obvious that advertising for sale online and word of mouth are the most effective ways of selling for these businesses. We can help you with both.

If advertised for sale in our Marketplace, your listing won’t be mixed in with a bunch of unrelated for sale listings like houses, cottages, offices, etc. 100% of site visitors to our Marketplace are searching for Fishing & Hunting Lodges, Camps & Resorts For Sale. As of writing this article, our site currently receives 9,000 page views a month.

The discretion with which the for sale advertising of these types of business must be handled is well understood. We know that it’s best if your guest’s are the last people to know the business has been sold which is why we are very careful to not specifically mention the name of your business anywhere in the for sale listing. This helps avoid attracting any site traffic from guests. The  listings are carefully prepared to only attract people interested in buying a business not staying at one.

Finding a Buyer For Your Fishing & Hunting Lodge, Camp or Resort Business

We’re approached multiple times a week by email from interested buyers. We’ll ask these individuals where they are most interested in buying, the type of access they would like the property to be, ie. road, boat-in or fly-in, and when we come across an owner considering selling that fits their criteria we will attempt to connect the two.

Our for sale listings on our website work well for owner’s selling their business themselves and for brokers & agents as well. Every listing has your contact info in the listing and a direct message form that generates inquiries that are sent to your email.
