Wilson's Sporting Camps has been operating on the Southwest Miramichi River since 1855 — one of the oldest continuously operating fishing lodges in Canada. That legacy isn't just history; it's a client base, a reputation, and a brand that no amount of marketing spend can replicate. The property is now offered as Wilson's Four Season Resort, having completed a substantial diversification and infrastructure program beginning in 2010 that repositioned it from a seasonal salmon camp into a year-round outdoor adventure and corporate retreat destination.

Approximately $1.5 million was invested in new infrastructure during that transition. The result is a 7,000+ sq ft geo-thermal main lodge built in 2004, four separate lodging buildings totalling 12 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, and 27 beds, and exclusive access to 16 private Atlantic salmon pools across 5 miles of the Southwest Miramichi — a river that holds an international reputation among fly-fishers.

The primary market has historically been high-end clients from New England and the tri-state US, plus international guests. Since 2010, Atlantic Canadian visitors have driven record occupancy, broadening the revenue base significantly. The New Brunswick Trail system runs directly through the property, opening the door to snowmobile and ATV tourism — a shoulder-season revenue stream most competing salmon lodges simply don't have.

The current owners are retiring and will facilitate a full transition, providing training and operational support as required.

The Miramichi River system is arguably the most famous Atlantic salmon river in the world — it has drawn fly-fishers from Europe, the US, and across Canada for generations. Wilson's holds exclusive access to 16 private pools across 5 miles of the Southwest Miramichi, a stretch that has been carefully managed and maintained by the same family for over 165 years. The operation also ranges to several other rivers in the region for Crown open waters, giving guests variety and flexibility throughout the season.

The property is located at McNamee in central New Brunswick, 60 minutes from the international airport in Fredericton — close enough to receive guests arriving by air, and within a day's drive of New York, Montreal, and Halifax. That access profile is what has sustained the US market relationship through multiple generations of guests.

Built in 2004 and expanded in 2010, the single-storey board-and-batten main lodge is over 7,000 sq ft with a finished walk-out basement, constructed to Canadian building code with modern utilities throughout. The geo-thermal heating and A/C system, propane backup generator, and commercial-grade kitchen represent the kind of capital investment that a new owner inherits rather than has to fund.

All four lodging units were designed with Miramichi views in mind and feature in-floor radiant heat, ductless mini-split A/C, Wi-Fi, satellite TV, geo-thermal heating, and outdoor fire pits. Three of the four units have full-service kitchens.

The 2010 diversification plan transformed Wilson's from a seasonal salmon camp into a genuine year-round operation. Atlantic salmon fly-fishing remains the flagship — the lodge continues to offer exclusive trips during prime season to its established international clientele. But it is no longer the only revenue driver.
